CCA AL 2026 STAR Tournament Featuring $80,000+ Skeeter/Yamaha Grand Prize Package
The 2026 CCA AL STAR Tournament will once again feature a grand prize boat package through the continued partnership with Skeeter Boats and Yamaha. The first angler to catch a tagged fish will win the grand prize Skeeter SX221 Bay Boat powered by a Yamaha F-200 motor and paired with a Skeeter tandem axle aluminum trailer, with a total value exceeding $80,000.
The tournament will begin Saturday, May 23, 2026, and run through Monday, September 7, 2026. As in previous years, 30 slot-sized redfish will be tagged with blue STAR tags and released in Mobile and Baldwin Counties leading up to the start of the tournament.
The 2025 tournament produced a record 12 recaptured tagged redfish, representing a 40 percent recapture rate. Ten of those fish were caught during the tournament dates. However, none of the anglers who landed the tagged fish were registered participants, resulting in the grand prize boat package going unclaimed.
“While we did not have a grand prize winner in 2025, the number of tagged fish recaptured shows just how strong the opportunity is for anglers,” said Blakeley Ellis, Executive Director of CCA Alabama. “We are incredibly grateful to Skeeter and Yamaha for their continued partnership and commitment to the STAR Tournament. Their support allows us to continue offering up an amazing prize for our participants. We’re hopeful that 2026 will be the year a registered angler lands one of those tagged redfish and takes home this incredible package.”
The tournament also features a Youth Division for anglers under the age of 18 on May 23, 2026. The first registered youth angler to catch a tagged redfish will win a BOTE inflatable kayak package. Youth registration is $10, which includes CCA membership, and STAR Tournament entry is free for youth participants.
For current CCA members, tournament entry is $40. For non-members or those needing to renew, the combined cost for CCA membership and tournament entry is $80.
